Freeware

This is a simple utility that immediately puts the monitor into power
saving mode. To use, put a shortcut to MONOFF.EXE into a suitable
location such as the desktop or Start menu.

This program is Freeware. Do whatever you want with it.

OPTIONS

Use "MONOFF /?" for quick help.

There is an optional time specification which can be used to restrict
this program to work only during certain hours of the day. To do this,
use the following syntax on the command line:

  /T:hhmm-hhmm

hhmm represents the start and/or end times. Both are optional.

Examples:

  /T:0200-0600
Only operational from between 2am and 6am

  /T:2200
Only operational after 10pm until midnight

  /T:-0400
Only operational from midnight until 4am.

This is useful if you want your computer to go into power saving mode as
soon as it starts up, but only during certain hours of the day. Put a
shortcut to MONOFF.EXE into the Startup menu and set the time range
using the /T option.

------------------
HOW TO SET OPTIONS
------------------

Assuming you already have a shortcut to MONOFF.EXE named Monitor Off
in the Startup menu, go to the Start menu in Windows Explorer by right-
clicking the Start button and choosing Explore.

Double-click Programs, then Startup. Right-click on Monitor Off and
choose Properties. On the Shortcut tab, type your options into the box
labelled Target after the program name. For example, after you have
added you options the target may read:

  "C:\Program Files\monoff.exe" /T:0200-0600

If the file name is surrounded with quotes, leave them there, but make
sure your options are outside the quotes (as shown in the example).
